HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management has been reaccredited by the renowned American AACSB – Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. This makes the Leipzig hotbed for entrepreneurs one of the first business schools to be evaluated following the new standards. The particular focus is on the power to innovate, the impact of the latest research findings on practice as well as the academic and professional commitment of the teaching staff. The AACSB accreditation process examines the continued progress of the entire business school with all its programs and research achievements. During the assessment, the international team of AACSB scientists led by Prof. Finley Graves, Dean of the College of Business at the University of North Texas, had the chance to get to know the innovate125 HHL Future Concept and its goals as well as HHL as a business school. As of now, less than five percent of the business schools internationally have received the worldwide best-known seal of approval from AACSB; in addition to HHL, only seven other business schools in Germany currently meet the international criteria.
HHL Dean Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart says, “We are thrilled about HHL being once again recognized by AACSB. The organization positively rated the fact that we have already managed to put significant parts of our innovate125 HHL Future Concept into practice and therefore, HHL is off to a good start in achieving its ambitious strategic goals.” In addition to a sustainable increase in student numbers and a major rise in third-party funding to create new chairs and to fund existing professorships, which are not yet being sponsored by third parties, HHL succeeded in further sharpening its research profile and increasing the school’s international competitiveness. With this international accreditation, HHL ensures its students, business partners and other stakeholders that it offers top-level academic training and is able to expand its international network of outstanding business schools. In doing so, HHL wants to continue to increase its appeal to highly motivated national and international applicants and improve their prospects for a successful career in Germany and abroad.
HHL, founded in 1898 as Handelshochschule Leipzig, was the first private university in Germany to obtain the coveted seal of accreditation from the worldwide leading American AACSB as early as 2004, therefore emphasizing its top scores in rankings in an objective manner.
The innovate125 Future Concept of HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. HHL responds to the new challenges of leadership in the 21st century through its innovate125 Future Concept, keeping in tune with a holistic approach and expanding the dimensions of effectiveness and responsibility, aided by the perspective of innovation. Based on the vision of a new “Leipzig Leadership Model” HHL wants to contribute to the trend reversal and fight for more rigor and relevance in business administration, following the great tradition of its first alumnus, Eugen Schmalenbach. By 2023, when HHL will celebrate its 125th anniversary, the school wants to achieve two core goals. HHL has already succeeded in positioning its M.Sc. program among the top 10 worldwide. HHL would like to move up into the league of the top 10 graduate schools in Europe with its significant full-time and part-time M.Sc., MBA and Executive programs as well as its well-structured doctoral program. To achieve this, the university will continue to put great effort into realigning its content and structure. In order to achieve its strategic goals, HHL will pursue a strategy of qualitative growth with a larger and more international faculty, excellent research, additional programs, more students and strong global networks. www.hhl.de/zukunftskonzept-innovate125
