70 Exchange Students from 26 Countries. New Exchange Students at the First Business School Established in Germany Several days ago, 70 new exchange students arrived at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. From Canada and Mexico to China – the guests perfectly represent HHL’s lively network of over 100 partner universities throughout the world. According to a survey among German universities commissioned by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) from 2012, HHL ranks first for its number of partner universities per professor.

Each year, 80 HHL students take a term abroad at one the international partner universities. Consequently, the first business school in Germany welcomes an equal number of international students to Leipzig in return.
Frank Hoffmann, Director of International Relations at HHL, says, “English is the language spoken on campus, making HHL very interesting for the students from our top-level international partner schools. Moreover, the exchange students contribute greatly to the intercultural communication at HHL. During the last few years, we saw a strong increase in exchange students from Asia. This corresponds with our students’ interests regarding their term abroad.”
Sophie Schnick, Manager of International Relations, who looks after the exchange students from abroad, adds, “We are thrilled to be able to welcome 70 exchange students from 39 of our partner universities. Over the first two weeks, the students learn more about German culture providing a sound basis for their studies in our country. Naturally, each student receives individual assistance.”
